About this deal

If there was ever an anime experience that would leave you needing therapy, marathon-watching Shingeki no Kyojin is it. Perhaps this is the best way to watch this series; by the end, you'd be so emotionally exhausted and mangled, you'll know what total despair is like. Not since Berserk have I seen an anime capable of utterly destroying... hope. Yet in spite of its soul-crushing hopelessness, Shingeki no Kyojin is entirely about hope. Without it, mankind would have nothing. Shingeki no Kyojin is an amazingly written story with a very dark premise and a lot of action. This is definitely not a series for the faint of heart, especially those with fears of man-eating giants that don't even have the decency to kill you before they eat you (sometimes). The story keeps you guessing as it progresses, there's a new reveal that completely destroys what you thought you knew and makes you wonder just how far the rabbit hole goes. The characters are very relatable and you really do want to see them succeed. What makes this series unique however is the protagonists very In the 90s, Dragon Ball Z broke the mainstream walls while Neon Genesis Evangelion opened the doors to the now indispensable late-night anime slots in Japan. The concept of humanity being at the brink of extinction, this is one emphasizes it's fight for survival and the ups and downs of their fight for victory. With the first episode starting off with a great clincher to get you A festival is held in Shiganshina as celebration of the sealing of the gate. Remembering Eren telling her that they will be leaving at the third ring of the bell, Mikasa rushes through the street as she hears the first ring, but is suddenly grabbed by a masked man. The man urges the crowd to look at him as he attempts to turn Mikasa into a murderer. Mikasa begs him to let her go so that she can see her friend, and the man agrees at first, but then tells her that he does not want to be made a liar.

Like most things out there, SNK does have its flaws. But the flaws are so minuscule that it's very, very hard to notice them. The brilliant storytelling of this series completely blew me away from episode 1, which is why it deserves a near perfect score. The exact location and time place of AOT is unknown, but based off of the clothing, architectural style and character names it is safe to say that the An alliance is formed between Paradis and the group of rebels, calling themselves the Anti-Marleyan Volunteers, and preparations and training begin for the impending war with Marley. While at a firing range, Mikasa and Armin both agree that it is good to see both sides are getting along with each other, but are visibly troubled by Eren's insistence that Paradis must launch a preemptive assault on Marley to buy themselves more time to prepare. As they draw near to Eren, Mikasa experiences another strong headache and is suddenly brought into a Paths place by Eren. Mikasa is living in isolation with Eren following their decision to run away from the Paradis-Marleyan conflict. Eren notices that Mikasa has been crying, and Mikasa wonders if it is okay for her to be there. Eren muses that the only option they had was to run away and live out the rest of his four years in peace together, since he could not bring himself to allow Historia to suffer or to Rumble the people living outside the Walls.

But that's not all, because in addition to being well presented, violent and dramatic, the show still then has the drive to steer you into corners via breakthroughs in the story. Another beautiful aspect of the show is that although the context would say that humanity had been surviving for over a century, the titans are still a great mystery to the present characters, therefore putting you (the viewer) on the front line for discovering more! are the titans? What is in the basement? Why is Eren's dad so creepy? All this and more the viewer asks themselves as the end credits roll for episode 2. After being sent away, Mikasa notices several Military Police soldiers enter Zachary's office and decides to eavesdrop; Armin tries to persuade her not to, but she insists on knowing what direction the Scout Regiment is going. Suddenly, she grabs Armin and dives away just as an explosion goes off in Zachary's office. They both go outside and see Zachary's dismembered corpse from the blast; Mikasa is speechless about who could have been behind the assassination as the crowd of protesters chant in approval. The next morning, Mikasa finds Louise in the infirmary wearing her missing scarf. Louise claims that Eren told her to throw the scarf away, so she decided to take it instead, prompting Mikasa to demand that she return it immediately.I'm not a fan of blood and gore. Really, I'm not. There have been several shows, live-action or animated, that I have had to drop because of their content. When a show like SNK, which has copious amounts of both blood and gore, can become one of my favourites, you know that it is amazing.

The third character is Armin, the weak but smart one. I guess he's ok, since he does seem to grow more than the other two.. Aside from that he's forgettable as well since this show's characterization in general is very shonenish and obnoxious in an otherwise dark setting. "The power of friendship!" (ok, they don't actually say that, but they come pretty close). Despite all her blind loyalty, Mikasa is quite stoic and level-headed. Her will is remarkably strong, and she is rarely seen to lose her cool or be at a loss of what to do, no matter how bleak a situation seems to be. Even when she believed Eren to be dead, outwardly she managed to remain so calm that only Armin could tell that she was battling with the pain of losing Eren. [12] However, she is not completely immune to the effects of her emotions. Her strong feelings for Eren, particularly when he is in harm's way, does at times cloud her judgment - sometimes to the endangerment of herself and others. [12] [4] A notable example is when she briefly gave in to her grief over Eren's apparent demise and lost the will to live - forgetting her responsibility for the lives of the soldiers she had taken upon herself to lead in the process. However, she was reawakened by her memories of Eren, after which she made a conscious decision to never give up again, as if she were to die, her memories of Eren would die with her. When she found him alive and well, she completely lost her composure and wept tears of joy. On the roof above the kidnappers' hideout, Mikasa talks to Levi and tells him that Armin's disguise is on the verge of being uncovered. Levi notes that the kidnappers are seemingly amateurs and leaves the situation in her hands. [37]excited for the rest of series, you get a little view of how each character is and their view point towards the situation.

The concept of the villain, and of the world itself, is scary and genius. First off, the villain – the Titan – is basically a stupid giant human cannibal. The nine surviving Scouts later attend a ceremony to be honored for their success in the Battle of Shiganshina District. Before the start of the ceremony, Eren gets into an argument with Floch over Armin being saved over Commander Erwin. When she attempts to calm Eren down, Floch commends Mikasa over her acting like an adult and giving up in saving Armin. This statement surprises and upsets her. She would later go on to be commemorated for her bravery in Shiganshina with a medal.
